The Honourable is an independent, online-only legal magazine founded in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and written for readers everywhere. We take our name from the form of address reserved for the Bench — a daily reminder that the law, at its best, deserves honour, and that those who write about it owe the subject both rigour and respect.
Who We Are
We are not a law firm, a chambers or a government body, and we carry no political affiliation. Our only constituency is the reader who wants to understand the law: the practitioner, the judge, the student, the journalist, and the citizen whose life the law quietly governs every day.
Our Mission
Legal knowledge should not be locked inside law reports and lecture halls. Our mission is to open the profession to its readers: to let judges and lawyers speak in their own words, to explain new law while it is still news, to keep the great cases alive for a new generation, and to give emerging legal writers a credible platform for publication.

Our Editorial Standards
Every substantive piece is checked against primary sources — the statute, the judgment, the official record. Where the law is unsettled, we say so. Where we express opinion, we label it opinion. Interviews are published with the consent of the interviewee, and quotations are verified before release. Corrections are made promptly and acknowledged transparently.
