EDITORIAL TEAM

Sayed-Ul-Haque was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2004 and has been an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, High Court Division, since 2009. He read law at the University of Manchester (LLB Hons, 2003) and completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law. He holds two further master’s degrees, an LLM in Legal Practice from Nottingham Trent University and an LLM in Information Technology and Telecommunications Law from the University of Strathclyde, together with a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from the University of London, awarded under a full scholarship, and a Diploma in International Relations from the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education. He is currently a PhD candidate researching Clinical Legal Education in Bangladeshi universities. As Head of Laws at The Equitas School of Law, which he founded in 2004, he has taught the University of London LLB for more than two decades and is the first tutor in Bangladesh to hold the University of London’s Worldwide Recognised Tutor status. He founded The Honourable to give Bangladeshi and international legal scholarship, practice and student voices a serious, well-edited home, and he sets the magazine’s editorial direction and standards.

Ramisa Jahan holds an LLM in International Law from the University of Cambridge, where she was the only Bangladeshi student in the 2019 LLM cohort, and an LLB (Hons) from the University of London, awarded with First Class Honours and the University’s Academic Achievement Award in 2017, a distinction achieved by only a very small number of University of London law graduates worldwide each year. She is an Assistant Professor at the School of Law, Chittagong Independent University, having lectured there since 2021, and previously practised as an Associate at The Legal Circle and as an Advocate before the District and Sessions Judge Court. Her research on the International Criminal Court and on climate law has appeared in multiple Scopus-indexed journals, and she has been profiled by The Prestige Magazine as its “Fempower of the Month”. As Executive Editor she leads the magazine’s academic output, oversees the Legal Writing and Landmark Cases sections, and reviews long-form articles for scholarly rigour, sourcing and argument.

Tazeen Nuwari Anwar was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2020 and is an Accredited Mediator in civil and commercial disputes with the ADR Group, United Kingdom. She holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of London and has been pursuing a PhD in Policy Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University since 2025. She brings more than eight years of combined teaching, legal and managerial experience, having served as Lecturer and Course Coordinator at the British School of Law, as Program Manager for Legal and Compliance at ShopUp, an international multinational technology company, and as a Researcher at The Law Square. Her commentary has been published in The Financial Express and Orthosongbad, and she is a JCI Public Speaking award winner. As Managing Editor she runs the editorial calendar, coordinates contributors and section editors, and manages the magazine’s production from commissioning through to publication, with particular responsibility for the Updates in Law section.

Fabiayea Hassan holds the Postgraduate Diploma in Bar Professional Training from City, University of London, and an LLB (Hons) from the University of London. She served as a Legal Professional at the International Criminal Court under an EC Grant in 2023 to 2024, becoming the first Bangladeshi woman to hold a legal position at the Court. She has been a Legal Research Fellow with Greenpeace South Asia, a Visiting Lecturer at Bangladesh Maritime University, and an Associate at Sadat Sarwat and Associates. Her writing on climate justice and gender-based violence has been published by Greenpeace and Human Rights Pulse. As Associate Editor she commissions and edits the magazine’s international coverage, including International Updates and International Landmark Cases, and leads its reporting on human rights and international criminal justice.

Tamanna Tarin completed the Bar Professional Training Course and an LLM at City, University of London, following her LLB (Hons) from the University of London. She is an Associate at Farooq and Associates and previously practised at Sadat Sarwat and Associates, one of the most prominent law chambers in Bangladesh, where she developed extensive expertise in civil, commercial, banking and property law. At Equitas she teaches Criminal Law and Public International Law and coaches the Equitas Moot Court team, whose members compete in national and international competitions, and she is active in human rights research. Known as an approachable mentor who devotes considerable time to student tutoring and moot preparation, she is well placed to shape the magazine’s engagement with the next generation of lawyers. As Associate Editor she oversees the Interviews section, including the profiles of judges, lawyers and students, and edits the magazine’s coverage of civil, commercial and property law together with its Prominent Legal Figures features.

Syeda Nazmur Siha Muna is a Lecturer in the Department of Law and Justice at Metropolitan University, Sylhet, and serves as Research and Resource Faculty at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet. She holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of London and an LLM in International Law from the Bangladesh University of Professionals, and previously worked as a legal associate in the chambers of Barrister Tasmia Prodhan and Associates at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. She has completed professional practitioner courses in the income tax and succession laws of Bangladesh, and her current research examines restorative justice and the crime victim’s right to compensation in Bangladesh and the United Kingdom. A contributing writer to the Daily Observer, Dhaka Tribune, Dhaka Courier and UNB, she is also an experienced debater and parliamentary debate adjudicator, a former reciter with Bangladesh Betar, and the founder of Posse-ability, a social venture supported by the American Center of the US Embassy, Dhaka, that raises awareness of specific learning disorders. As Features Editor she commissions and edits the magazine’s shorter and more accessible writing, including Facts, Fun, Controversies and Book Reviews, and shapes pieces intended for a general readership.

Tanzina Akter Rita is a senior member of the faculty at The Equitas School of Law, where she is Module Convenor for the Graduate Diploma in Law programme and Senior Course Administrator. She holds an LLM from Northern University Bangladesh, where her thesis evaluated the practice of alternative dispute resolution in Bangladesh, together with an LLB (Hons) and a Diploma in Law from the University of London. She is a member of the Dhaka Bar Association and of Lincoln’s Inn, and has been a Pupil Barrister at Zahedul Bari and Associates since 2020, having previously trained at Nasir Law House. Her experience also includes an internship at the Microcredit Regulatory Authority and administrative work with the Build Up Awareness NGO, and she has published research on microcredit and social development. With a strong background in legal drafting and advocacy, she serves as Associate Editor and Editorial Administrator, with responsibility for copy-editing and citation checking, correspondence with contributors, the Vacancies section, and the Judicial and Legislative Updates on Bangladesh.
